Junior Development

Basketball has proven to be the most popular sport in the deaf community, especially in Victoria. With the increasing level of interest in rival sports, DBV has identified the need to ensure that basketball is in a stable state.

To combat this, DBV has struck strategic alliances with Deaf Children Australia (DCA) and Basketball Victoria (BV) to find ways to build awareness, talent identification programs and establish core networking partners.

DBV and DCA are now currently developing plans to ensure deaf basketball has a healthy future in Victoria and to also create a social and culture wellbeing for youth in the deaf community.

Please contact DBV if you are interested to assist with their junior development program, or know of young basketball players who have any degree of hearing loss.
